Leadership Meeting

Our first Anchor meeting for the year was great. President Kayla did a wonderful job on her leadership presentation/training. The group did a great job of coming up with projects to do. Now all we need to do is get our dues paid and initiate the new members!
It is time for a new year to begin!! All current members (those who were members last year and want to come back this year) will meet Thursday, September 20, 2007, in the HHS Library at 6:00 PM. President Kayla is looking forward to a great year!!
Anchors will be selling baked items and candy on June 30th at the Houston Homecoming. This money will go toward our trip to Norfolk, VA. That trip cannot come soon enough for Kayla, Megan, Dawn, Miriam and Dorajean!!!

Clean Up Day at the Park

After Farm Safety Day the Anchors went to our Kids Park to get it cleaned up for Spring playing time. We did the first round of work. Our goal is to create a community calendar where all the different groups in town will pick a month and be in charge of getting repairs done, cleaning, and reporting anything that might be wrong.

It only took about an hour because all 30 of us worked on it. The city provided trash bags, Houston Proud provided rakes, and we provided the time and effort. We will be working with Wal-Mart on this project also. Their team worked one day pulling more of the grass and killing ant beds.

Cinderella Ball 2007

Cinderella Ball is the most fun Fund Raiser/Project we do. Daddies bring their daughters to the dance and we play with them and use down time to talk about Brain Minders.
Kids learn about gun safety!
